Актуальность исследования определяется задачами по укреплению потенциала цифрового развития интеграционного объединения стран БРИКС в условиях формирования нового глобального ландшафта. Цель – провести анализ динамики цифрового развития и выявить преимущества от использования цифровых технологий в хозяйственных системах стран БРИКС, а также определить возможности укрепления их цифрового потенциала. Задачи: 1) провести анализ показателей, отражающих динамику цифрового развития стран БРИКС на современном этапе; 2) оценить последствия применения цифровых техно­логий для компенсации негативного воздействия пандемии на хозяйственные системы стран БРИКС; 3) определить направления интеграционного взаимодействия стран БРИКС для укрепления потенциала их цифро­вого развития. Применены методы сравнения, систематизации, экономико-статистического анализа, логического метода, графического метода, системного подхода. Выявлены изменения в состоянии цифровой инфраструктуры в странах БРИКС и сокращение разрыва в использовании сети Интернет между городским и сельским населением, произошедшие в результате пандемии. Установлены направления использования населением сети Интернет. Сделан вывод, что во всех странах БРИКС в период пандемии произошла интенсификация развития электронной коммерции. Обнаружено увеличение объема экспорта ИКТ-товаров и услуг прежде всего Китаем и Индией. Проанализированы изменения, произошедшие в процессе цифровизации государственных услуг в странах БРИКС. Предложены меры, способствующие укреп­лению внутриинтеграционного взаимодействия стран БРИКС и расширению потенциала их цифрового развития. Сделан вывод о росте показателей цифрового развития стран БРИКС под влиянием пандемии, а также подтверждена гипотеза об усилении позиций интеграционного объединения как центра влияния в мировой экономике.

As the global political landscape keeps changing, digital development becomes even more important for the BRICS integration. The article describes the benefits of digitalizing the economic systems of the BRICS countries, as well as outlines the opportunities of strengthening their digital potential. The authors analyzed the current dynamics of the digital development in the BRICS countries and assessed the ability of digital technologies to compensate for the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the BRICS economy. They used a set of standard research methods combined with economic, statistical, and graphic analyses to identify the main integrative directions between the countries that may improve their digital potential. The pandemic widened the gap between Internet use in urban and rural areas but diversified it as e-commerce continued to grow and more and more public services went digital. China and India increased their exports of information and communication goods and services. The article contains some ideas on strengthening the intra-integration cooperation between the BRICS countries in order to expand their digital potential. The indicators of digital development in all BRICS countries increased after the pandemic, and the integration proved effective as a new center of influence in the global economy.
